Michael Dueñas is a celebrity hairstylist, beauty expert and co-founder of AROVE. With more than two decades of professional experience, Michael has built a career styling hair for red carpets, editorial shoots, television, film and fashion.
His clientele has included Jamie Lee Curtis, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, Hilary Duff, Emma Roberts, Machine Gun Kelly and Giancarlo Esposito. Across 26 seasons of Fashion Week, Michael has collaborated with leading designers and worked behind the scenes to create hairstyles that complement fashion, photography and individual identity.
Michael’s hairstyling has appeared on the cover of Vogue and has been featured in publications including Elle, Allure and W. He has also served as a brand ambassador and global educator for major professional haircare brands, sharing techniques, product knowledge and styling expertise with beauty professionals around the world.
FROM PROFESSIONAL HAIRSTYLING TO PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Years of working with clients in salons, on set and while traveling gave Michael a clear understanding of what professional haircare products need to accomplish.
He repeatedly encountered liquid products that were bulky to transport, difficult to customize and largely composed of water. He wanted to create concentrated haircare that delivered professional performance while using a smaller, travel-friendly format.
That experience helped inspire AROVE and its approach to water-activated haircare.
